For the Christmas holiday I was with my sisters and their families. My daughter had an art show here in Houston, Texas on Thursday (12-22-11) and my youngest son went to see her. My sons spent the holiday together, as they are roommates.
I discussed faith and life with all of my extended family. It was so beautiful. The fact that this took place is a miracle. We have not been able to keep peace between us - ever. For whatever reasons.
If God can heal my relationship with my sisters, He will soon heal my relationship with my daughter. That is my desire - family. God and family are the priority order that we need to have.
To carry on this spirit of goodness, I met good people yesterday and today. But, today I fellowshipped with customers at the office. It was not planned, it was not rehearsed...God oversaw that His children came together and our spirit overcame us. We had to say His name and praise Him.
I don't know what my co-workers were thinking as this took place. I do know that the customers and me were happy. One had overcome paralyzation. A mother and daughter were coping with the event of the dad being diagnosed and treated for cancer, yet they still celebrated Christmas and with a dinner.
I shared with them that I keep up with First Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. We discussed this and the daughter was happy - she lives near there. The mother spoke up and said I should also keep up with Second Baptist Church here in Houston, Texas. I told her that I do. She also became very happy.
I also wrote down the website where I watch Dr. Ed Young and others on - Lightsource.com, so that they can go and watch the Christmas Eve Service. We shook hands and wished each other a Happy New Year. It was remarkable to see the tired mother become energized after talking about Christian faith. This is reminiscent of The Woman at the Well story - Jesus becomes energized after discussing faith.
There was also an elderly woman who just kept praising the Lord, appreciating life's moments, blessing people, and hugged me and several others before she left. I kept pace with her because it felt good. We just kept praising together - I was not about to let her down. I live for my faith and belief. I am not ashamed of the Gospel.
God put His will into action today. I am grateful. I truly love our Lord.
