Daniel 10:17
How can my lord’s servant talk with my lord? For now no strength remains in me, and no breath is left in me.
I had a vegetable plate for lunch today at my friend's restaurant in Pasadena, Texas. On my way back to work I stopped at a Christian book store to purchase a faith band. Years ago I had received one that read "I HAVE CALLED YOU BY NAME; YOU ARE MINE." (Isaiah 43:1)
I recently lost that wrist band helping my son move into his new apartment. It must have snapped off when I was helping with moving boxes and such. I did not notice until a day later.
The proprietor is an elderly man who walks feebly but has a very sharp mind. He led me to the area where he keeps the bands in stock. He only had one kind and I purchased one.
This wrist band reads: HE LIVES!
Before I left he gifted me with a book to read about Psalm 119. It is written by C.H. Spurgeon. I will indeed read this.
He wrote something for me to study on an index card: Daniel 10:5,6. I was supposed to read it and go back to see him with awareness and thoughts on these verses. No sooner did I look at the card, did I look up at him and asked,"Is this about Daniel and the angel?"
He was stunned. He responded,"My. You're a peculiar one. Yes it is." At that he became excited. He then wrote another set of verses for me to read: Revelation 1:13-16.
I then asked if that was John's encounter with the Lord. He then began to explain his comparative with me. He was so happy to be discussing a passion of his.
He went to the side and came back with two articles that he has written about Daniel and the prophesies relating to Revelation. I am to study them tonight and see him tomorrow for discussion. I will be going on my lunch hour; it is how I will spend the hour.
I am glad to have made a new friend in Christ today. One that I feel will be a blessing to me in regard to learning and sharing about our Lord Jesus Christ. I look forward to seeing him.
(As I visited the book store I noticed that my local Christian radio station was playing on his system. I alerted him to my awareness of it. I also told him that I have my car radio set to it: He liked that.)
