A friend reached out tonight and seemed so desperate. In order to really be a help to others, your relationship to God needs to be "intact." The strength of your mind and spirit needs to be in a good place. If you are going to be shaken up by criticism and objection, you need to monitor your exposure to others. Meaning...don't be putting yourself in situations that are going to be more than you can tolerate.
I have had altercations with advocates of the King James Version of the bible, non-Catholics altogether, fanatical believers who are in their infancy or mature years, and a range of atheists, non-Christians, and the like. So many people and so many different beliefs. We are really amazing - people as a whole.
Ephesians 2:7 -
...so that in the coming ages he might display the limitless riches of his grace that comes to us through his kindness in the Messiah Jesus.
I find it very disturbing when someone who is involved in a "faith page" becomes depressed and seemingly unstable. I can find it understandable about the depression but not to the point of harming one's self. What kind of faith do you have to think such a thing? A special friend once alerted me that I was spitting in God's face when I was unhappy with my new job at the beginning. I had discovered my salary was half of what I had been receiving at my previous job. I was very upset and was airing my mind to her. As it turns out, I am happy in that job now and things are working out.
So, what do you think God feels like when you are contemplating hurting yourself? Especially if you have been hosting a "faith page." You represent Him and others have been witness to it. It never fails that when you make a statement or post a question, you are going to receive a myriad of responses...of all kinds. Unlike me, I hardly ever receive a response on mine. But, I have seen up to 100 or more on some posts. The comments range from simple ones to lengthy and wordy doctrinal opinions.
Whatever they are, you should not be driven into a desire to please the evil one. You need to reach out to stable friends and advisers...no fanatics. Keep your feet on the ground and your eyes towards God. Feed your faith every day and pray. If you feel overwhelmed by the world, just step back and quit running - start walking an even pace. Get control of your situation with guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Don't give victory to Satan because you are frustrated. Instead, give victory to the Lord by being forgiving, patient and prayerful. Seek Him in time of trouble...you know that.
This is also good advise in general for all of us in times of need.
