Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it.
In life we at times have that person who makes us feel better when feeling low. For me it was my Momma. She taught me to trust God and to be strong and to not doubt what He can do. She always said,"Trust God. He can do anything."
She did not say it glibly. She did not even look at me when she said those words. She would take my hands and grasp them and look with a fixed stare between us. She would tremble and sternly say those words to me...her grip was very strong.
She was being serious. She wanted me to understand how important it is to believe and trust our Lord. To not waver and be nervous with doubt.
I leaned by watching her live out the life that was given to her. There were times that things worked out well. There were times when things did not turn out so good.
Either well or not so good, my Momma stayed strong in her faith. Even at the last moment of her life she talked to my three sisters about that. She was a determined woman and our champion in life.
When she spoke to us, we listened. She had earned that respect with every day that she lived. She was good, she was sincere, she was loving, she was instructive, she was expectant and she took care of us with vigilance.
She taught us by example to be children of God. To live sensible and behave reasonably. She could sing like an angel and often did around our home on weekends.
This is how we need to feel about God. It was He that blessed us with a remarkable woman to mother and care for us. I remember what she taught me and I do believe and trust our Lord.
