I saw a woman who had failed her road test two previous times. She was irritable the first time, I was the examiner. She did worse the next attempt - she did not get past the parallel parking portion. I read her test form, which had my notes from the first attempt and the notes from the second test which was administered by another examiner. I noticed she did worse the second time which gave me a concern. I wondered why she would do worse the second time.
I started her third attempt by letting her know I wanted her to be at ease and relax. She smiled and told me that I had helped her to feel better. After the examination of the vehicle, I sat in the passenger seat to begin the road test. We started sharing immediately about her reasons for struggling in the tests. Her son had been murdered in New Orleans just months ago. He drove her everywhere and it was sad to her to become independent...to be her own driver.
Well, I ministered to her. I gave her the words that were flowing from the Holy Spirit through me. She started talking about her love for Lakewood Church and for the Lord. She said she believed her son was in a better place now...waiting for her. I gave her encouragement and affirmation of her faith and belief. She was so happy to meet someone who knew of this kind of pain and had come to the same conclusion as she had done.
She made one error on the test. She passed. She is awesome.
God can do anything.
Amen.
