Revelation 1:7 - Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
On Christmas Eve of 1984, I had left my wife and kids with my mom in Houston. I was driving back to Spring, Texas to pick up the gifts we left at our apartment. I was very concerned over what direction my life was going. Yolanda and I had a long talk before I graduated and she convinced me her path was like mine. I wanted to go to college and get an education, and she said that is what she wanted. But, we started having babies right away and she expected me to let go of my dreams and work. I was miserable and I was wondering how I would get my situation straightened out.
As I neared the Goodyear blimp base, a voice told me "Turn sharp to the left, now!" A few moments later an 18 wheeler sped by me like a bullet; I would have been killed. I started praying and looked up and I saw Jesus with his arms spread, a cross on his midriff, and a road leading to him. I was stunned at the sight and started to cry. I started praising the Lord right then and there.
I shared that story with my family. They didn't know what to make of it. It had to mean something - which it did, but that wouldn't be made known to me for eight years.
My dad and mom divorced in 1980 and both soon remarried. In 1992, my dad was "reborn" and his wife kicked him out and told him she could not handle all his Christian stuff. So, he made his way to Houston in a few months. He came knocking on my door, this after not hearing from him in three years. We began to spend time with each other and then I got sick with diabetes and Yolanda left me. Dad was very supportive and suggested I go to a church he had discovered.
It was the Catholic Charismatic Center of Houston. He loved worshiping there and it felt like home to him. He was so friendly to everyone and even served coffee and passed out donuts and sweet bread. He just loved the environment and he introduced me to all of his friends. We proceeded up to the service area and as I walked through the entrance. There it was! A big painting on the wall behind the altar. It was the very image I had seen in the sky eight years before. This was a shock to me. I was astounded by my discovery of the painting.
The painting was done by Fran May of Spring, Texas. That's right, where I was traveling when I saw the image in the sky. Her painting had been completed at the time I saw the vision of it in the sky. I bought a cassette of her story of the painting. She was very challenged and had to work really hard on it because it is very large. She had never worked on a painting of that great of a scale before.
The Lord chooses who a message is given to and when. It is a big load to carry, but we are supposed to share the visions/stories. I am duty bound as a follower to share with you. It is up to you to accept it as truth.
Jeremiah 23:28 - Let the prophet who has a dream tell his dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?" declares the LORD.
This is a true story.
(The Catholic Charismatic Center was once hosted at St. Nicholas Church. Now it has moved off of Scott Street near the University of Houston. It has it's own building now. I bless myself to honor God and my family each time that I pass it.)
