I walked to church today. I enjoyed it. It was a beautiful morning. I passed a homeless man underneath an overpass. He had a cot and blankets and was sitting semi-upright - enjoying breakfast in bed. He was startled when he noticed me approaching. He didn't know what to expect. Would I harass him? Would I insult him?
I smiled at him and acknowledged him as I passed by. He looked pleased, relieved and content again. I am happy for his peace. What does he own? What worth is he in this world? Yet, he can enjoy 'breakfast in bed' in a simple surrounding.
Mark 5:3
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
God bless him.
