I have posted several updates on Ephesians 6 because this book and chapter are where the Armor of God is instructed to us. It seems far-fetched to the reader - Armor that shields you from evil. Faith is your shield against all spiritual onslaught...but you must have it to be protected. So, how do you attain it? By constant effort in the reading and study of the bible and fellowshipping. This is the only way.
I have been sharing prayer experiences with you and lately I described the raising of arms and the sensations I had. Well, I had another one today and it hit me like a ton of bricks what was going on. I became aware of the literal meaning to the following verse:
Ephesians 6:13
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
At the onset of my prayer time, I read Ephesians 6:10-18 and then say my prayers. At the conclusion, I hold my bible overhead as I stand and I say the Lord's Prayer. Today, a force held me still and my arms became heavy. My feet were fixed and as I recited the Lord's Prayer I could feel an energy going in and out of me...from my hands to my feet and back up to my hands...repeatedly. The Holy Spirit was working in me as I stood firm and held my bible aloft with one hand on each side.
We are to equip ourselves with the Armor of God to be ready for the day of evil. That day is any day in our lives when temptations and trials come at us - and they will. This is how to equip yourself in readiness. The Word and prayer to form a strong faith within you. I just had to share this with you because it is an exciting awareness I have come upon.
Peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Amen.
