John 6:44
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.
I began my educational years in the Aldine Independent School District at Johnston Elementary. Then onto the Conroe Independent School District, to the Fort Bend Independent School District and then finally to the Channelview Independent School District.
In these years came a lot of events. The death of my favorite uncle. Floods at our home in Cut & Shoot, Texas and the collapse of my parents marriage. All of this took a toll on my young mind.
Having to go to school in the midst of life's changes was hard. I had to go and complicate this by seeking to have a girlfriend. The end result caused me to go further into my misery.
I had to repeat my freshman year at Conroe High School. All I had to do was pass one summer class to be promoted to my sophomore year. I could not accomplish this because I was bullied in that class...and an ex-girlfriend participated in it.
I was foreign looking and was made a spectacle of in this English class. I had spit balls shot at me, insults hurled at me and was physically threatened by one of the students.
Enduring a repeat freshman year was hard for me. I never knew what it was like to move out of "the aquarium"...the freshman building. But, I made it through that year with good results.
I spent 1 1/2 years at Willowridge High School and another 1 1/2 years at Channelview High School. I did graduate. I am an alumni of the 1982 class of Channelview High School.
I became more of "me" at Willowridge. I developed a lot of who I am today at Channelview. Private, friendly and ready to do what I need to.
It is important to closely focus on what you need in this world, not what you want. To be simple and value each good person.
Do your best in life, ya'll. It really does matter.
