I wrote a letter to a trucking company because I had something to share. The following is the exact wording that I sent to them. In their response they assured me that the company's founder would be given the letter personally by their Director of Marketing.
The letter:
My mother passed away on February 5, 2004. On the way to our family’s hometown of Raymondville, Texas, a Swift truck was traveling towards Refugio (near Corpus Christi). The truck was traveling the speed limit. We ate and rested with other family there in Refugio and continued to Raymondville.
During that weekend, I would occasionally see a Swift truck here and there. Now, I was distraught over my mother’s death but I mention this because I have a lot to share with you. I have learned your company’s trucks are a “sign” to me. I know it sounds weird, but I am telling the truth.
Since mom’s death, I have endured a separation and divorce, near fatal infection in my nasal area that caused my head to swell up like a watermelon, tragic loss of employment and income, severed relationships with my adult aged children due to the divorce, loneliness (I live alone), and a revival in my Christian faith. In all of my changing, Swift trucks have been appearing at different intervals over the past seven years.
I currently work for the state of Texas. The income is meek but the work is very satisfactory. I am very involved in ministry work in my local church and love teaching as a volunteer. I am very interested in helping the youth of our church develop into sound individuals. It is a tremendous blessing to be able to do this.
As my mind and spirit mended, I would see Swift trailers during the times of changes. As I overcame one hurdle after another, I would see one of your trailers in that approximate time. Lately, one is parked behind my apartment complex and I am anxious to see what change is coming now. I just had to let you know about this.
I was encouraged to send this email after seeing the About Us page – you support charities and charities for children. Your founder, Mr. Moyes, even mentions it in his monologue. I was excited to learn about this. I don’t know why the Lord chose to link my life changes with the sightings of your company trailers but it is a treat to see them. I feel “focused” when I see them. I can be thinking about many things but as soon as I see one of your trailers, my mind recalls the events I have lived and changes that have come with the sighting of your trailers.
It is not truly swift in real time how God has been working in my life. But, in God’s “timing” it is. Seven years have passed and I have changed so much, in a way it indeed has been swift.
I am glad your company is founded on faith. I am convinced that is why it is has grown and prospers. I just wanted to share this story with you. After seeing your website, I had to!
May the peace, love and blessings of the Lord continue to be with you.
