2 Corinthians 1:3-4 --
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Hunger and thirst are things we encounter that make us know we need sustenance. We know to nourish our bodies at the time it is necessary. In the same way we recognize when we are mentally starving and thirsty for resolution in our lives.
Grief, sorrow, hurt, depression and concern are but a few of the things that remind us we need comfort and healing. It is our stubbornness that prevents us from praying and seeking out the Lord for comfort. We tend to be self sufficient.
Only, when it come to life, we have no control. We are not prepared for what can take place in a day. That is why our hearts and minds must be trained in knowing that the Lord is able to assist us daily. We need to trust in Him and know that He will provide resolution.
We may not recognize His solutions right away. In time we can look back and see how He indeed intervened and aided us. Even when things don't work out well for us, He is with us.
Be strong and have faith. Amen.
