I have times when I feel alone, nervous and unsure. I receive an inner calling to pray…for strength, confidence, clarity and comfort. All of us are the same in that regard. But, it is vital to pray and to keep faithful. It is a daily need, even though some days may be better than others. It is good to seek others to pray when you feel that need. The community of the faithful is here for one another. Love is our guide to our entire life. We must pull together and pursue the effort to share our understanding and knowledge.
1 Corinthians 12:4-10 gives us a map of how our effort to work with each other is designed. And 12-30 in the same book expounds it with even more emphasis on how we relate to each other as parts. When Moses and Joshua died, Israel was left to govern themselves without a divine leader. They had nobody taking direct orders from God and redirecting it to them. In them, we can see it is hard to do the will of God as a people. Yet, that is exactly our very state that we are in. We are each others spiritual keepers and it is a family in the body of Christ that we are in.
Don’t question if or when you should start your journey in faith. Just do it. What you see in me is in you, only I am focused deeply on it every day. Even my weakest days are stronger than what most others experience because I eventually pray…daily devotion is a vital key in your spiritual strength. I am renewed and have a better focus on how to deal with my life after I pray. It is very important to have that kind of faith. It only comes from feeding your faith daily…radio, bible, sharing and worship will pay huge dividends for you. You must surround yourself with the things of your faith.
If I am part of your daily devotion…it is okay. I seek a certain kind of person to be my friend. Sometimes I will make an exception because we need to; as a Christian I must allow someone the opportunity to share their perspective. Jesus had dinner with a tax collector to prove this point and the parable of “The Prodigal Son” was given there. The Lord once defended an adulterous woman as a mob was gathered and about to stone her to death. She became a devoted follower of His and deeply loved her teacher.
We are not perfect and all have a flaw or two in us or in our lives or both. He seeks us out regardless of what we think about ourselves. He sacrificed Himself for all mankind and it is the individual that we are who decides to accept Him as the One True Son of God and One True Savior. We are given a choice; we are not forced to believe. We all have that choice to make. I made mine and have never regretted it. On the contrary, I have always been thankful that I chose to walk in the Light.
