Throughout the bible we see how God is amongst us on clouds and as a dove. Moses first notices that the cloud of the Lord rests on Mt. Sinai and later sees the burning bush. In the desert after Israel is brought out of Egypt, God is a cloud by day and a pillar of fire at night. He defends the nation of Israel from the cloud and is their security at night in the pillar of fire.
In the New Testament, we see star references, a dove and more clouds. The birth of Jesus Christ is marked by a star that leads the Magi to his birthplace. Later, the spirit of the Lord appears as a dove at the baptism of His son. Jesus speaks to Moses and Elijah on a mountain with a cloud present. Jesus ascends to heaven in a cloud.
Later, Paul is confronted on the road to Damascus by Jesus Christ who is in a cloud. It is the most intense moment that Saul has ever experienced in his life. What takes place instantly converts him to follow and promote the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So, we are 2000 years away from the ascension and are at the end of the year of our Lord, 2010. We have had a lot of technological advancement since the days of the apostles. What do you think the clouds, the dove and the stars could have been?
You can think of the answer on your own. Soon, we will all know. I am comfortable knowing Jesus Christ is my Savior. That is all that matters to me.
Peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
