I had a great dinner tonight. My waitress was enchanted by me...we had a good talk. Her name is Heather. I loved her story. I had a Grilled Shrimp Pacifico dinner, two beeritas (beer bottle in a margarita) and a lovely time.
I went out to the parking lot and stood by Blessing, my 1973 VW Superbeetle. I surveyed I-45 going into downtown Houston. I could see the Beltway. I recalled my many treks by foot and bike that I have made for most of the past year.
Suddenly...an SUV turned into the parking lot. The woman inside called me over. She needed directions to Missouri City...of all places. I instructed her how to get there from where she was. She was very far from Missouri City...let me tell you.
I laughed so hard after she departed. I could not believe that incident took place. I was beside myself. I used to live in Missouri City. It is where I met the mother of my three beautiful children. It is where I met wonderful new friends after leaving my beloved Cut-n-Shoot and Conroe.
I thanked God for using me - for being His instrument. I praised Him all the way home in Blessing. I was happy. I had stopped at a Starbucks during the week and spent a few moments with a couple of sales ladies representing Fiat cars.
I sat in the car and listened to their presentation. They gave me a gift card to use at the Starbucks and a $50 Gas voucher that needed to be processed at any Fiat dealership. I happen to live next to one...literally.
The business card they handed me had a name that rang a bell. "Joey Yost." I was in league baseball in Conroe...I knew some players from the Conroe Tigers baseball team. Two of them played with Joey's brother, Eddie.
I stopped by on my home with the intention of checking out a Fiat and getting a $50 Gas Card. I ended up driving home in a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta. I will call her "Blessing Too." I walked over to my apartment to get some insurance information. There was a strong aroma of incense here. No kidding. I don't burn any - ever. It was very strong. I am aware that it indicated the presence of the Lord. I don't doubt that for one second. Amen.
God is amazing. I am so happy. I realize that I now have a higher insurance premium and car note, but I also have the ability to meet that. I am blessed!
Glory be to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
