Angels

(Update: Lisa passed away in May 2011.)
I met two friends many years ago in high school whom I cherished because they were so delightful to be around. Always smiling and happy. My ex-wife was their captain in the Pep Squad, she was a senior and they were freshmen. They were always a joy to be around. I shared a Home Economics class with the two freshmen girls.
Last year, we reconnected here on facebook. I discovered one of them was ill with stage four breast cancer. I was in misery but just about to launch into the deepest faith journey I have ever experienced in my life. I began thinking of how much I wanted God to heal her. I prayed hard every day and even was asking churches to give prayers for her: two cathedrals and my own church. My church still posts her name for prayers every week in our bulletin. She began to get better and I have no idea exactly what her state of health is now. We no longer communicate.
The other has been a positive influence and very supportive towards me. She has seen me develop from a broken man into the spirit filled proclaimer I have become. I learned to walk in the Light once again. I have learned to walk like never before. I had different reasons for this. I am spiritually happy in my life now.
I just wanted to take a moment to let my friend Lisa know that I am still praying for her daily. I want her to know she will always be in my heart and I will cherish her forever. She is very special to me.
I also want to take a moment to let my friend Robin know that I hold her deep in my heart and appreciate her goodness. I will never forget our friendship and the special moments we have shared in school, in our neighborhood and on our school bus.
They are my personal Angels and I will love them forever.
