Today my youngest child, my son Christopher, was with me. We went to lunch and it was there that I shared something that I have become aware of. Why I have had to struggle in various ways since my separation and divorce. I pin pointed the past four months to be exact for our talk, but it has actually been continual.
My parents grew up poor, worked hard and had to learn how to handle difficulties and they did it with determination. As man and wife, they provided well for my sisters and I. We did not know what hunger, poverty or hardship meant. We had plenty.
As a married man, if I ever had a need my Momma was always there for me. This is the first time in my life that I came to grips with hardship. It was something I have never known until now, and even then God has been kind to provide a wonderful job, apartment and His love.
Walking and riding a bike for the past four months has helped me to learn about hardship and how to endure. I have been coached by the best - the Lord by His Spirit. I endured and will continue to do so. I am very glad for my lesson. It grew my faith in a beautiful way.
That is what I shared with my son Christopher today. I am so glad to share it with you now. May God be with you and bless you continually.
